    Clean negs

Also I’ve stopped looking at the negs before hanging because the water runs in a different direction and when I hang it doesn’t dry well.

    Clean negs

I used to remove the excess water with my two fingers like a squeegee but I’ve stopped doing that because I was constantly getting marks. I simply hang them straight after taking them out of the film reel. Just make sure to wash well after fixing because it actually makes a difference.

Film Photographer of the Year 2024 - Discussion

I'm trying not to think about it much, even though prices can really put me off too. The first time I gave up on film (around 2010) was because of the prices. You said you're "Very sad about it all", "concerned about film" so that means you would probably be gutted if you gave up on film. I've...

Is this possible option: varnished prints without glass?

Well some have glass on them to protect against vandalism. But oil paintings don’t need glass and as a matter of fact it should be avoided because it creates more glare. Varnish not only protects but also brings out more vibrant colours and adds more contrast overall. . . Didn’t know you can...

That’s dedication there, most pictures look like studio photos. Completely different type of street photography. His energy is so calm that it shows in people’s faces. Thx for sharing

Zine Exchange VII - January to April 2024

@gjhill I received yours yesterday thanks very much! Once again, something unusual. looking down to find a subject was not something I would typically consider. The fresh leaves contrasted sharply with the decaying ones, serving as a metaphor for life's cyclical nature. A different perspective...

How to be a stealthy (like a ninja) when taking pictures of strangers.

Nope, not going down that path againo_O I'm happy with the dinosaurs the folding cameras. Yeah, I suppose it's not just the final result, the picture( which ends up Digital here anyway)but the whole process. Anyway that's a different subject altogether  I used to think it's silly to...

How to be a stealthy (like a ninja) when taking pictures of strangers.

I find that sometimes when I’m “seen” it kinda Ruins the picture. For example when someone looks at me and smiles :geek: . You’re really stealthy with that Ricoh and I’ve seen it many times at your pictures:). Do you take pictures in single or continuous shooting mode? @AndrewFlannigan the only...

How to be a stealthy (like a ninja) when taking pictures of strangers.

Share your experience and tips here. Everyone has developed their style/method to avoid been seen when taking a picture. What’s your advice/tips? . . . Yesterday I’ve realised (yeah I know it took me a while) the best way to go unnoticed is by having the most inconspicuous camera. My newly...

    Sensor cleaning

That’s why I’m asking, I’m not sure if there’s a difference between cheap and more expensive kits. But other members said they used cheaper kits and all is good… Apparently there’s glass in front of the sensor so I imagine I would have to try hard to scratch it somehow. But hey, thx for the tie...

    Sensor cleaning

I’ve tried @droj ’s advice but with my father in law’s tie, since I’m not a suit type person. It removed most of it but didn’t do the job…Is that why old camera lens are full of haze, because of the tie situation? . . Here @LeeRatters Is this a bad case or am I too fussy :)? It looks pretty...
