    Beginner Back Button focussing

Learn how to do it, then decide? If I'm doing landscape stuff, I use back button as mentioned earlier so I can then recompose. I don't use a tripod much anymore, if I did I imagine I'd start just poking the area of the live view screen to select focus point and shoot.

    Thought on which crop please

Then they have greater exposure to different ideas and ways of thinking. Inspiration to draw from and understanding what different options they don't like.

Adobe may now pirate your content

Modern tech firms seem to be getting more and more invasive. I know it sounds tin foil hat.....but I'm getting sick of Alexa, I tell her to turn the lights on and she's asking if I want to set up a routine for going to bed. No, just turn the damn light on! Or amazon prime, chirping up through...

    Thought on which crop please

The first one, for much the same reason as some have already said. I have been considering a similar thing with some of my recent photos. Conclusion I came to so keep the wide shots as mostly viewphotos on mobile / laptop etc so can easily enough zoom in closer when viewing if desired. Bit...

Looking for experience on going from PL 100-400 to Oly 300

Thank you for the responses, got the 300mm F4 without the teleconverter the other day and went out with it....very happy. I suspect the TC will get ordered very soon.

    3D printing

I decided to go northern lights hunting on Saturday gone, couldn't find my dohicky to attach gopro to tripod so I quickly made one in (tinkercad, the 0-3 yr old version of cad?) and printed an arca swiss plate with gopro "fingers" to attach the gopro. Two hours later it finished printing....such...

    Covert filming

I could be wrong, but the question combined with your username makes me feel there's an agenda I'm not comfortable with.

Looking for experience on going from PL 100-400 to Oly 300

Was getting the 300mm F4 and 1.4TC from MPB. However, I noticed that the lens had a mark on the front I hadn't realised when ordering; is why it was a bit cheaper than the rest. So I'm just getting one of their other 300mm F4 lens, and as it cost more, dropped the TC from the order. Posted my...

Is the 'entry' level IMac suitable for photo editing

I have MacBook Air M1 16GB, lightroom (not the online version) and regularly stitch pano shots; very happy with the M1 16gb machine. It's not instantaneous, but is fast enough that I don;'t have to set it off, then go do something else. 13" screen, I think I might look at macmini in the future...

Looking for experience on going from PL 100-400 to Oly 300

Just been to the post office and dropped off my gear, not as sentimentally attached as I thought I was apparently. Had to drop the 1.4tc as didn't realise the lens I was getting had a mark on the front lens. Better safe than sorry...

Critique Photographing flocks of birds...advice / c&c please

I think there's potential for shots like the 4th one. Where the flock is in flight, but think it's a case of having enough birds but not too many so that they aren't all overlapping each other; appreciate we have no real control over this. Just my 'umble opinion.
