Right I seem to have moved things on. It turns out I had the "manual focus clutch" set to inoperable in the menus, so when I thought I was in manual focus mode, I wasn't :) So now when I slip the focus clutch back into the manual position, I defiantly hear the noise stop (on all the affected...
