How sharp can a picture be at 600mm..:shrug:
These shots has not been cropped and about the best I have come up with this morning..:thinking:
Both taken with the 300mm f/2.8L with the 2X converter fitted.:)
Comments please.

Blimey Tim, thats a shallow DOF you get at that range isnt it ! lol
First one, the eye is nice and sharp which is the important bit, would have liked to see the little chap a little further to the left of the frame, with some space to the right, but considering they never sit still very long (ie milliseconds) that a pretty good shot ! :)
Second one seems a little soft on the eye, but i still like it ! Focus point seems to be its shoulders ? But again, considering the speed these things move about at, its still pretty good mate !
Also considering you dont have zoom, it must be interesting keeping the little buggers in the viewfinder ! lol

Can't decide if I like that second frame or not :)
Picture inside it is pretty good though.

Canon MkII 2X converter.:)
overall impressions of the TC and what incompatibility have you had with it if any?
great shots tim, thay are so sharp at 600mm. Great skill :thumbs:

Overall impressions are that next to no loss is found IMO.
Anyone wanting more reach without spending a fortune this is the answer.:)
This shot was taken with my 300mm with the 1.4X converter fitted making it 420mm.
Tell me this isnt sharp..;)
