A few more on my site here (http://www.itsnotarace.com/cpg132/thumbnails.php?album=71)
All have been resized, levels/curves adjusted and usm in photoshop. Taken with D200 & Nikkor 70-200 VR.
Enjoy :D
very nice ! :) love that Aston !
Great panning there. 1/125th isnt easy. Do you use VR on the 70-200 for panning at all? IIRC there are two modes - one which can be used for panning, and one that cant?
Cheers :) VR is off for all of these but yes, you're correct - there are two modes.
VR "normal" compensates for small motion but can sense when you are panning. VR "active" is supposed to be for larger motion such as from a moving vehicle or boat but I haven't tried it yet.
TBH when you are standing still shooting subjects that don't move much I find VR excellent. I must admit I can't actually tell much difference either having it enabled or disabled for motorsports though - not sure if it's just me  perhaps it disables when panning quickly?

And the award for oldest thread revival goes to.
Badgerbaiter, I was going to say that but thought I'd sound like even more of an anorak than I already am  But yeah it is British GT, not FIA.

Was just about to comment that I might have missed out on some secret meeting for a moment there :bonk:
Not too long to get back into the swing of things though :gag:
Was gonna say...thought it was out of season

Very nice collection, wouldnt let me view your album of photos. The last shot of the gravel looks a little yellow, i think your WB has been fooled slightly. Keep them coming!

These are very nice, but I can't help thinking that VR would have improved them even more. I got far more keepers at Knockhill with VR on than I did with it off.

In what way?
Nice shots but have to agree with the WB issue, #3 looks a little pink and a cast on the GT3 shot that's already been mentioned
I doubt Ross is that bothered anyway. After all he did post these nearly 3 years ago and I'm not even sure he posts in the forum any more :)
