Do you mean in the viewfinder or maybe on the mirror? I'm not too sure what you mean.

Sorry the viewfinder..can i take out the focus screen and give it a blast.?

You can remove the screen but normally it's possible to blow the dust off and save the hassle.

It's a common problem on the 5D, I have done it on mine several times and it's really straight forward to do.
Use this place to see how it's done http://www.ascent-design.com/photo/Clean5D/

I have this printed out, but with the shakes and age, still building up the courage to go ahead!

May i also add, that doing that may make it worse.
It made it worse on my camera, but i lost the big ol' hair right in the middle.
Swings and roundabouts really.
Just to add to that site I posted, it's a good idea to lay a pecpad over the mirror before starting to take the bits out.
