BUMP! Please someone say something, Stop making me think its crap!
As the saying goes "Chill" :) .
I don't think it's crap but it's just one of the many many many photos on this site that I don't think I can contribute anything meaningful t o:help:
I understnad¬! /me runs of crying
its not crap, pitty its eye is closed (or appears to be)
I think its a really nice image.
Agree with Mrgrubby though, The number of images on this forum is growing & its difficult to keep track.
Think the closed eye gives a sense of thoughtfulness but think it'd work equally as well with the eyes open. Nice image
not a bad image Dan, it would be a slightly better pic with its eye open, but thats not to say its a bad picture as it is ! Think the crop may be a little too tight, and not sure if the mono works on it, is still a nice picture Dan, should be proud of it !
absolutely fantastic, loving the mono here, really exemplifies the brilliant tones & textures - the whole shot feels very old Kenya.
I like the tight cropping and the closed eye, makes the whole image feel more old & worn.
Infact, the only thing I'd change is really quite simple :

By flipping the image horizontally it "reads" easier to our western eye.

Wow! That is amazing I never would have thought to do that and it really does make a difference. It was good to begin with but now it is really eye catching. I learned something new.
blimey ! i wouldnt have thought that with flipping it ! it does change the whole feel of it !
wow Hoodi, that makes a HUGEEe difference, cheers all :)
It often feels wrong to flip an image, because you know which way round it was IRL, but it can make a shot!
Of course, if you were showing this to an Eastern eye...
certainly does look different, and also now we know he had both eyes closed :D

LOL ;)
I like the idea of flipping it. It works too, I've never thought about it from a "Western Eye" perspective (no pun intended), but now you mention it, it makes perfect sense!
So what's the theory behind this Western Eye perspective?
Great shot btw.

I guess it's because we are used to reading so we scan a photo from left to right?
