Lightsphere

I have a normal lambency rectangular diffuser but am interested in the Lightsphere for my sisters wedding but am wondering if anyone has any experience of it and whether to go Clear or Cloud, I have watched Fongs video's and think Cloud is prob best but really not sure.

Any Advice??

I have the cloudy fong and it's great. Considering that it's little more than a yoghurt pot on top of the flash.

It's still a fairly small light source but it does give noticeably softer light. If there are still cheaper copies on ebay, that would be the better bet I reckon.

I used Hackers cloud at my dads wedding and it was perfect and I pressume he also uses it for many of the excellent wedding shots we have seen from him. I have since bought a clear for a bit more reach, but will be getting a cloud too as they are just lovely for portrait work. :thumbs:

If your initial target is the wedding then yes, the cloud is a softer light for those more intimate closeups. And yes, ebay copies also available that will do an equally goo job. When FitP sees this, he will recommend the tupperware dish from your kitchen cupboard :lol: ;)

The cloud will give you softer results but a little less output. Since mostly folks are after the softest light possible from a small portable flash, it's cloudy for most of us I guess.

I have a "fake" fong, cost me like £9, works well, and really well made too. But i do find it's very big in a wedding, i use my stofen instead.

I have the cloud, not that my flash photography is very good but I did notice an immediate improvement in light quality.

Make no mistake they are expensive and do look odd to most folks but this can be an advantage as the tend to look directly at you when taking the pic resulting in great eye contact.
