Well, I realised I slipped off the top 10 of gallery activity recently, so I thought I'd better address the balance. Before I went a bit wobbly dog I started re-processing some of my film stuff from my first scottish expedition. All shot on either a contax Tvs or Minolta XD5/50mm or 24mm cheapo glass ;) :edit: the film is all XP2, processed c41 and scanned in on a nikon neg scanner.

It aint pretty but I like it......

I know some of them have slight halos, are a bit OoF, poor colour balance, grainy etc. But, they are an accurate reflection of how I felt and was photographing at the time!

All the ones here were taken at a place called Loch Arkaig, just north of fort william. It's always the first stop and last stop on our trips into scotland, mostly because it's not too crazy, gives us time to re-calibrate to the scottish madness/midges and the 10 Hours it takes to get there is about as much driving as we can take before we need a rest ;)

On different note, if you want to see some video footage of what the hebrides looks like through the eyes of my slightly abnormal friends then look here........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZVJG8oJzwo

OOOoh number two, number two, number two.

You've managed to give it a 'film camera in the 1980's' kinda feel to it, which I have been trying with some of my shots (rather unsucccessfully I might add).

So

A lovely set overall, but number 2 stands out for me :)

Possibly cos it was taken with a '80's film camera maybe?

Seriously though. I've started to love film again, despite it's many failings, and try as we might, it's real tricky to mimic it in pp. The grain structure and range of tones is something I've yet to see in digital. The closest I've come is using the 'diffuse glow' filter in CS2, but it's tricky to get right without it looking overdone methinks.

3 & 6 are awesome images, really great set overall. I occasionally take my OM10 out for shots when I can get it away from my girlfriend (she refuses to use digital).
I agree about the "film" look though, its very nice.

The third due to the dynamics and the sense of going forward and the penultimate. I reckon you'd do well with a 20 quid Holga for fab medium format goodness (I'm just about to get on having seen these http://www.toycamera.com/)
