View Full Version : Cokin Filters
I'm thinking about these but I know that you get 2 types of adapter, I think its A and P adapters I checked out. Just say I want to buy a 77mm A adapter and a 82mm A adapter. If I buy A filters can I use them in both the 77mm and 82mm and can I use the same filter in both A adapters and P adapters? or do I have to buy new filters for every filter?

The A Adaptors only go up to 62 mm so I believe you cannot get larger than that. The P system goes above that.
The Z Pro system is for your Ultra Wide Angle stuff.
So I believe you are going to need the P System with 77mm and 82mm Adaptor Rings then you will need the appropriate P Filters. The filters themselves are different sizes as well you see to fit in the holders.
Edit..
Yes I was right and info can be found on here http://www.cokin.co.uk/pages/cokinA.htm
thanks for the info  I'm having a good read of it at the moment :)

I used my A set filters recently on my 18 - 55 kit lens. They were ok at the long end but had definite vignetting at the wide end. Thats with a 58mm thread adapter. I'm now looking at upgrading to the P series, especially with the need for a 77mm adapter for me new lens, 100 - 400 IS USM L :)
great link, answered my question too
