My 52

At last something to get me off my backside and out of the office at lunchtimes. :clap:

Think I had the ISO setting to high when I taken this at lunchtime. Starting to use settings on the camera instead of just my usual point and shoot on auto.

As the saying goes "I can only get better"

I love the idea of the reflection of the swan in flight, and as one of your first photos using the non-auto settings it's better than mine was ;)

Yes, there is a bit of softness in there (perhaps from a bit of camera shake or not sharpened in post processing) and I think that if the swan and it's reflection filled the frame it would work very well. But overall it's OK, the slight blur on the wings really works for me as it gives a strong indication of movement :thumbs:

It was a bit of a fluke as I didn't realise I had captured the Swans reflection until I downloaded it onto my laptop.

Probably a bit of handshake causing the blur. Not using a tripod at the time.

Its not a bad shot and you always have to bear in mind the camera the person is using. Good luck with the project!

Not only have you caught the reflection you've also caught the movement. A good start! A tighter crop would be good though so that the bird dominates the frame more.

A well-timed shot - a second later and that perfect reflection would have been splashed to oblivion. I also like the reflections of the buildings and the whole picture has a calm, wintery feel to it - very atmospheric.

Well done on leaving the safety of 'auto', too.

I like it, it's a well caught moment, superb reflection in the water,nice bit of blur in the wings. I think a bit of a crop too. Good start, good luck on the remaining 51

The mighty medieval castle of Bothwell Lanarkshire.

The castle was built on a bluff above a bend in the River Clyde.

A good choice of 'History'. It must have been a majestic sight in its day. I like the low angle of your shot - it adds to the drama. On my screen it looks a little dark, and I think a slight tweak would help. But it might just be my screen - or my eyes. :lol:

Well timed pic of the swan. I like the angle of the castle but it needs a bit of a play with the contrast maybe to make it a bit less 2d?
