Tried to go for the studio-esque look
Here's a drawing of my 'studio' set up? :naughty:

Stood in the doorway of my bedroom, i have totally white walls :D
It was taken with my 430ex bounced off the wall directly in front of me with the kit lens at 18mm.
I'm quite pleased with the result actually!
Very good - I would have thought you had done it in a studio or with a proper white background if you hadn't have said. Nice shot.

I agree with the others; looks very well done IMHO!
On your diagram, where was the camera? And how did you trip it?
I guess when youre that darn cute ... you cant go far wrong can you! ;)
Seriously though, really nice pic, you should be proud of that.
Uh Oh! ... is this the start of a 'self portrait' thread!

The camera was in my hand :D
The 20d+grip+430+lens is blooming heavy too when its facing the wrong way and held in one hand

Seriously though, excellent photo, looks like a professional studio one. Wonder how you'd do with a tripod and a remote release - might be worth giving that a try :)

Really nice image Jonny, round of applause for inventiveness (I think thats a word)

Intense stare on you there Johnny boy. I'm not a fan of the studio look or at least the full light look, i'm more in to available light. But Self portraits are not easy no matter where they are taken
Can so often be cheesy, i don't think this is
Cheers
