I'm not too sure of US prices, but B&H are usually pretty good.

At current exchange prices, that works out at approx £57, and thats without postage, I would rather just pay the money and get one here, and Warehouse Express are doing them for £67 according to Camera Pricebuster (http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod83.html)

But definitely a lens to feature on your list.

For the low cost, the quality is astounding...so it's a highly recommended lens for starters! Plus the low light/shallow DoF capabilities gives you a whole new world to play with :)
