I have a very cheap tripod which was great value but doesn't seem sturdy enough for my needs. I have a Nikon D70s and will use a Nikkor VR70-300mm lens which will be the largest weight on the tripod. My budget is no more than £100-£110 and I also have £30 of Jessops vouchers to use (though I'm not limited to Jessops).
Is the Manfrotto 190XB a good bet? And then what about heads? Does it come with a useable head or must I purchase seperately. Jessops have this (http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/Accessories/Tripods%20and%20Supports/Tripods/products/Manfrotto/190XPROB%20Pro%20Tripod-49003/Show.html) for £107.65 but then they have the seemingly same product for less with a different head (http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/Accessories/Tripods%20and%20Supports/Tripods/products/Manfrotto/190XB%20Tripod%20%20390RC2%20Head-49986/Show.html).
I plan to use the tripod for night shots, indoor buildings and surf photography.
I'd appreciate any help!
