POTY 2008 Overall Winner and Results Thread!

Well we knew it was coming and here it is


In total we had well over 650 entries for the competition last year, and it takes a while to get to the end of the list, so for now, the top 100 is posted.

Congratulations to Lady Pitstop for a convincing win for the year, and a very big well done to everyone one else who entered, a very good year for everyone!

WOW! What can I say other than a big "THANK YOU" to everyone at TP for all their support, encouragement and most of all, inspiration.:D

I won't bore you with a long speech ;-) but ........ :lol:

I got hooked when I purchased my first DSLR in June 2007 never having used one before and immediately found a hobby that I loved which allowed me to be creative (well sometimes ;)) I know I bored you all with flowers at first and I have tried to diversify this year;-), and it made me look at things in a different light than before (light being very important in photography!!) :D And then finding such a wealth of knowledge and creativity here only spurred me on further.

So small speech over, I just want to say thanks again to everyone and I'm truly gobsmacked to have won :D:D and to be amongst some very talented photograpers and friends.

Many congratulations to Issey and Blinkerz and to everyone that took part too :D and all the TP staff for organising it. :D Anyone I've forgotten to thank?!!!!!!:lol:

I'm very impressed with the consistent quality of your photos bearing in mind that you only got your first DSLR in June 07. You give me something to aspire to as I only got my first in Feb 08. Congratulations on winning this years comp - maybe you could refrain from entering this year to give the rest of us a chance :shrug::naughty:
