Apparently this was shot with a 20D

Very good, someone posted a similar link a number of months back where some people had made a short film using a 20D - basically set it to lowest JPEG file size, and apparently it can shoot almost continuously without filling the buffer.
Heres something similar link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-5cJse8_Zk&search=%22Between%20You%20and%20Me%22), and heres how (http://www.boingboing.net/2006/07/01/patryk_rebisz_short_.html) they did it.
(I apologize for not being able to remember who originally posted it)

that is just stunning. beautiful music too...I wonder how he made it so smooth? must be 1 fps or something?

I'm not so sure it is buffer rate that’s been used here.... I’m thinking long exposures, 5-10 secs...to get the trails, then spliced together at about 15-20 frames per sec....so it looks reasonably smooth.
Nice work whatever....damn fine tripod too.
I think it may be a little of both.
I think it's longish exposures, but only of around half a second / second or so. Looking at the trails they're only a few vehicle lengths long.
However they did it, it's still mightily impressive

I don't think the exposures can be too long cos the section filmed at the airport show just the planes lights landing and they don't leave very long trails like the traffic.
I think that must have been computer controlled? Or would just locking out the release on a cable release do the same?
