Firts attempt at photos of nephew

This is a photo of my little nephew, Jack. I'm not really one for portraits and this is my first attempt. I used my Nikon D100 and Tamron 90mm macro in aperture priority at f3.2. Lighting was natural. Then into photoshop (via Capture 4 (RAW to JPEG)) and adjusted to mono.

Just wondering what you thought as I'm new to this. AT the least he's a cutie! :)

He is a handsome wee fella

Only fault with it is the blown areas, and i'm not too jittery about blown areas. Depends on the subject, but standard portraits such as this need to be exposed correctly

It's got far more going for it then it has against it pal. Really handsome face on him, looks like a character. Look forward to seeing some more portrait of the lil fella
