Hi there just had my 450D and looking at getting some sort of remote shutter for landscape stuff. Dont mind splashing the cash for the canon ones but are they any cheaper options available on Ebay or something!!! Any help appriciated.

There are cheaper alternatives on eBay. Try a search for 'canon 450D remote' that should find them for you.
Good hunting. :)

I bought one of each off ebay, I would usually say buy genuine Canon but I figured it was worth a try. I bought a corded remote for 2.99 + postage and a remote for 1.49 + postage. Both are great and don`t even look cheap. I`m not sure how long they will last but I figured it was worth a punt.
I've got this on http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_1&products_id=103060 and it works fine with my 450D.

Me too  & their replacement battery is excellent value too ... Paul
I bought a timer remote thingy on ebay, from HK. I didn't want to pay the £100 more asking price for the Canon. It's working really well. I used it last night to capture some 50 odd 30 second exposure images.

another vote for a cheapo off the bay, I'm not normally a fan of cheap stuff but bateries and remotes are so much better value than the genuine articles.

You can get the Canon one from Argos just now for £15, I did and it works A1
