does anybody know if the Lumix LX3 & Nikon SB-800 work together?
Pretty much every flash/camera combo made in the last 10 years will work fine with each other.
Some older flashes will fry modern camera circuitry, but you don't have to worry about this with the SB-800.
It'll work in the manual modes, but won't work in the automatic modes.
The SB-800 even works on my Mamiya film camera.

I notice the LX3 has what looks like ttl contacts on it's hotshoe, you might want to tape those (or the prongs on the SB-800) over, just to be on the safe side.
Alternatively get a Nikon SC-17/28 clone and snip the ttl wires in that and use it to take the SB-800 off camera.

hmm.. the wires thing might be best due to the size of the flash to the camera LOL i doubt it would be stable at all

You haven't seen my G9 with a Vivitar 285HV on top
As a great man once said:
Pictures or it didn't happen (lol) :naughty:
I'd just love to see that.

Just tried both my SB800 and SB600 with my LX3 and they will fire okay but TTL doesn't work so you need to set them to manual. The only ones I know of that would work with TTL are the official Panasonic ones or Olympus flashes.
