we went to stay with my daughter over the weekend and this shot of Maddie was taken yesterday using a light tent with my assistant Barry holding the flash where I needed it ;)
I never thought we'd use the light tent for portait work, but Maddie loved it in there so it might be used more often!

I edited the raw file in Capture nx, used photoshop to resize and then Photobrush to add a bit of a glow...

Thanks :)
I'm not sure where we got it from, Barry bought it....he's out right now but I'll ask him later.

Light tent shop in Cambridge! KPprof
Assistant indeed....
I didn't think that was a real person! She looks like a doll :O

she was watching the Tweenies at the time...hence the expression! ;)

FAB image :)
Great lighting and color, and I love the catchlights. I'm not crazy about glow, but it's still subtle here.

Great shot I really like the brightness of the shirt with her blonde hair. I know that TV stare very well from both hubby and son!
The glow is quite subtle here too. Maybe a *little* too warm for my tastes.
That said though if I had taken this I would be very very pleased with it
I know I might regret asking this, but how did you fit a small child into a light tent ;) :D

Thanks for all the comments....
I wish I hadn't mentioned the word 'glow' as it really hasn't warmed the photo up at all, it has just softened and made Maddie's skin a bit more dewy...its more of a soft light effect anyway.
The light tent is not a tiny one marcel, its more of a medium one, Maddie is not quite three and there would be room for her sister in there too but it might get a bit chaotic, we'll find out at the weekend

That is a seriously good portrait, Marianne! Love the colour contrast and everything. And the expression - I've seen that many a time on my lads' faces!
Another great shot Marianne
Aha! The only tents I'm familiar with are the smallish desktop variety...I didn't know it was a biggun! :D
Like I say though, cracking shot, and one I would be very pleased with taking. Cute kid too. Myhair used to be that colour when I was young.
Very nice shot Marianne. That top is fantastic and she is so photogenic.

Can't help but think of the Jose Gonzales track 'Heart beats' the one used in the Sony bravia add (coloured balls)
A good portrait, and good portraits are not easy.
