View Full Version : Adding links
Is there any chance that the adding links process could be change so that it gives you a 2nd box for the text to be displayed for the link, rather than having to add it in afterwards (yes, I know it comes up highlighted, so you just type over it).
I think its a small touch, but imo is more user friendly (and consistent with other forums, but that might just be me lol  )
I know exactly what you mean Joe.
I'm not sure TBH, I'll look into for you. I noticed it recently too, thought it was 'different'.
I don't normally use that actual function, i just type the and tags round any link manually.
That said, when I do use it (sometimes), I think I preferred the older, more user friendly way.
I'll take a look over at vbulletin support for you :)

Joe I've done a bit of rummaging around and it seems the answer isn't as easy as I thought it would be :(
The way you need to do it is to type the Text you want to display, highlight it, THEN click the "Insert Link" button......type the link in, and the text you selected will be turned into a link
so type in
Joe's Website
Select it, then click the link button
in the popup box type www.joeswebsite.com
and you will get this in your post
Joes Website (http://www.joeswebsite.com)
So when you click post you will get this :
Joes Website (http://www.joeswebsite.com)
I hope that makes sense.
Apparently this is the way the advanced editor has been working for a while, and theyve just made all the reply boxes more consistent with each other.
