there's loads of threads on here about tripod buying advice.

I did alot of searching and evetually bought a redsnapper tripod & ball head.

They are excellent quality, build & great value for money.

Plus you get a 10% discount for being a TP member.

Think it cost me £107 inc shipping after the discount

As Scott says, the Redsnapper legs and ballhead are a great bit of kit. Good enough for me ;)

manfrotto 190xdb + 486rc2 would be a good choice, around £90

I placed my order through the redsnapper website:

http://www.aldine.co.uk/redsnapper/

and just add a note on the paypal form that i was a TP member, and they refund you the difference.

Go for it, you wont be dissapointed with it! ;)

Joe's Redsnapper legs/head have lots of positive comments in threads in For Sale & Dealers Fora (do a quick search for 'redsnapper' in either) - Also keep an eye on the For Sale Forum (think there's something in your budget there at moment) - I sold a Benro tripod last week so there are always people upgrading etc

I have got a set of redsnapper legs - much better than my Manfrotton 190 pro legs and cheaper too!
As for a head, I have no experience of the redsnapper head, but I do know the manfrotton 486 or 488 RC2 heads are very good. the redsnapper ball does get really good reviews. I believe the full redsnapper legs & head is about £100
