Gandhi is away on his jollies, and we forgot...lol

So the other theme ran for a little longer than a fortnight.

So we'll change the theme now and let it run for just over 2 weeks, ending around the 7th/8th October.

Please post your images in this thread, and as Renee said, it would be nice to have a little bit of discussion around the theme and the images in here too.
Why is it your favourite thing? Why you chose the image? Details of setting it up etc :)

Fire away folks :)

Good theme!

This shot would have to be high on my list for the sheer satisfaction value. I'd chased this little wren for a good six weeks and lost track of the number of out of focus shots I'd managed to get. On this particular morning, I'd tried to get her for about an hour from hiding and given up in sheer frustration, so I plonked myself and the tripod out in the open and was shooting other garden critters, when I heard that unmistakable song to my right. I turned and saw her on the fence bouncing around in the usual demented fashion.

I slid off the stool and spun the camera round on the tripod dropping to my knees at the same time, and shot off about eight shots on high speed drive, but she was long gone by the fourth shot. I couldn't believe it when I looked at the shots afterwards - this was the best of two sharp ones.

Some testament really to the 1D mark2n, the 100-400L and Lady Luck!

The shot is actually a huge crop but Jenny is at 1:1 reproduction.

For years now I've wanted to learn to play the guitar, and this year, for our 5th Wedding Anniversary, my hubby bought me this. This is why it's my favourite thing! The quality is not great, all I did was take a shot with my cheap compact thingy and stick a border round it! But I quite liked it!

Well as I seem to have totally misunderstood the theme for this one, and as an excuse to test the Hama Porta Studio thingy which arrived today I'll tender this offering as one of my favourite things.

The A1 was a landmark camera for Canon and the one which put them in real contention with Nikon in the pro market. Strangely the A1 was never marketed as a pro camera, (The more expensive Canon F1 was) but the pros recognized the flexibility of this multi-mode camera and snapped them up like hot cakes. With the above motor drive attached it will see off a 36 exposure roll of the *f word* in around seven seconds, and sounds just awesome.

I still get a tremendous buzz out of this camera and can't see myself ever parting with it. I know I should use it more but there's that *f word* again. :D

I have some Provia festering in the fridge and one of these days I might just get it out.

This is my favourite disc, unused, its almost too good to use :D

Not sure about the quality of the shots - if I was as good at taking photos as I am at playing Frisbee I'd be one happy bunny!!

Bye heck it's not so easy to choose your favorite thing, especially in this materialist world. However, given the spread of various toy's I plumbed for this:
