Yep, the lens you need is a Canon 70-300 IS, so you need to sell the Nikon and get a Canon 40d ;) lmao

The 70-300 VR is the equivalent. If you can't find new or don't have the spare cash they do come up quite regularly S/H as people upgrade from them to the 70-200 f2.8 VR and desperately want some money back. As soon as I find enough cash to I get my 70-200VR I'll be selling mine (but that might be a few months off yet :()
Woooooooo! :D
Congrats and welcome to the dark side :)
They're regularly on fleabay for about £300, which I think is overpriced for 2nd-hand.

You can get them at Jessops - £369 though :( - but it'll help them out.

An interesting choice to go to the D200 as opposed to the 40D.So what was your reasoning ?
Pete.

As Simon says, the 70-200 2.8 VR is a lens I lust after, but not on the agenda
unfortunately,
After getting the 17-55 2.8 I would just love one..
SOOOOOOOOOO sweet
Oh, welcome to the dark Em ,but I would like to know also why not an upgrade

I done the self same thing a few months ago.
Mainly because I didn't want to join the 'lusting over white lens's' club.

I found the canon's to be soft on image compared to my friends with Nikons :P
My dad and a few others also prefer and seemed like a next step up was a good time to change! am still trying to get the hang of all the settings *** ;)
ALL GOOD FUN :) am loving it so far :)
I too have just jumped ship - there's no right and wrong here, only what works for you!

Well I'm a Nikon (D300) owner at the moment but i have to say the 5D Mk II is quite tempting.

Surely does not matter what camera it is..... its the person behind it doing the magic..
good move
if you cant find a Nikon 70-300 VR for decent money is it worth your while saving that little bit extra for a Sigma 70-200 F2.8?

Yeah, but only magic people with common sense buy Canon!

At a guess I'd say the white lens refers to Canon L series lens, and the tropical grey is some other companies lens.
