Hey all,
I'm in the market for a new Monopod (my old *very cheap* one broke after I played lightsabers with it.... )

I've got about £100 to spend on this new one (inc head if possible), though I can stretch a tiny bit more if I have to.

I've seen a Manfrotto 680B which looks quite good, but I don't have a clue about monopod heads. Do they have their own type of head or can i just use a normal tripod ball head?

Apart from the Manfrotto i've also seen the Gizto G1564, however its more expensive. Is it worth paying the extra?

Cheers,
Dave

The 680 has a 3/16 screw thread to take any head. The head on mine needs a 1/4 thread, for which I have an adapter thread fitted. I think this came with the head but I can't be sure.

For my 680 I bought the set of feet which attach to give some extra stability. They are stored within the monopod leg.

doesn't the 680 take both head screws?

As per previous post - only if you use a 3/16 to 1/4 adapter.
