Ok, so not only am I knew to the photography side of things I'm also new to using CS Elements and Lightroom. So I decided to put in a before and after so maybe you guys can tell me where I am going wrong. I use Lightroom to do most colour things as I just don't get the layer system in Elements but I use Elements when I need to fix a blemish or something.

Without further ado:

and after:

I realise the pic is soft (caused by very slow shutter speed) but I thought it would be easier to see differences if it needed a bit of work. Feel free to mess with the original.

There seems to be a bit of BLUE going on! He has blue in his hair, and his teeth are blue too. I think thats probably where you tried to counteract the pinkish tint in the background?
Try to select the background and then counteract the tint........it wont affect the boy then. :)

You cannot choose just the background in lightroom. Which could just be where my issues start!

Have a look at this (http://www.idigitalemotion.com/tutorials/guest/colorfix/colorfix.html), it shows how to remove colour casts in PhotoShop 7 but it should be the same in Elements.
