I use ansmann max-e batteries, they are rechargeable but hold their charge much much better than normal nimh so I don't have to remember to charge them up every time I want to take my flash with me.

I've got some 7DayShop 2700mah in my sb600 and they seem to last beyond what I'd consider a reasonable length of time!! They were also silly cheap and came with a charger which re-charges them in an hour!

I use VapexTech 2900's in my flash and where needed on my R/C cars and they are pretty good... Can get them relatively cheaply (less than £1 each) too.

Don't forget that there is a lifetime for rechargables so maybe yours are approaching the end of their life? How long have you had them?

I'm surprised that flash manufacturers don't provide Li-Ion/poly battery packs as an option:thinking:

Been using Energizer Ultimate Lithium in my SB-900's and 600. All I can say is - wow. One set since the last 3 weeks and they're still going - and I've taken a lot of photographs.

I was going to move to rechargables until I read somewhere (here possibly!) that they suffer when shooting quickly - i.e. slower firing rate and the possibility of inconsistent flash exposures. How true that is, I have no idea. If anyone can clarify it would be appreciated!

I use GP2700's and they hold charge very well . The charger does make a significant difference as well. I bought an Ansmann Powerline 5 (http://www.tantronics.co.uk/acatalog/ansmann_powerline_5_lcd.html) which conditions the batteries. This has dramatically improved the length of time they hold a charge.

Uniross 2700's with the extra battery on the side (I shoot with SB800's). I change batteries at lunchtime on a wedding shoot, and rarley get any issues

Sanyo Eneloops with a decent charger/analyser.

They only lose about 10% per year if just kept for storage, but I use them in my 580 EX II and they're superb IMHO

I have an SB-800 flash and had been using non-rechargable Duracell Ultra M3's which lasted a decent amount of time but they are expensive to keep replacing so I have just bought 8 Maxuss 2800Mah rechargables. I have heard good reviews of them but I've not had a chance to put them to the test yet. I have shoots on Sunday and Monday so they had better be up to the job.
