Talk Photography Photographer of the Year 2009 - Rules and Guidelines

This is a competition for ALL members to enter, regardless of skill, technique, knowledge, or camera.

General info :
There are 12 rounds, each running calendar monthly.
The themes will be decided in advance and posted at the start of the round.
Only one photo can be submitted per round per member.
The closing date for entries each round will be 23:59 on the last day of the month (Or thereabouts).

Image specifications :
Images must adhere to current forum image size rules (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=27659).
Photographs may include a border and post production / Photoshop work.
The aim of the competition is to improve your photography, so it is preferred if you submit a photo taken specifically for the competition. However, we will allow older shots, providing they haven't been shown or used on Talk Photography before.

How to submit an entry
Each month, one of the site staff will start a thread in the Photographer of the Year Forum, with the round details in. To enter, simply reply to this thread with an image, as per the [URL="http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=24811"]FAQ guidelines here (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29).
There will be a second thread in the same forum, where you can discuss the competition round, and the images already posted.
At the end of the round a poll will be created, where you can vote for your favourite photographs. This will be a multiple choice poll, where you may vote for as many or as little shots as you like.
Voting ends at 23:59 on the 7th of the following month (roughly 7 days voting).
If your entry contains nudity then please just post a link to your image instead with a NSFW warning next to it.

[U]Scoring
A league table will be kept by staff as per last year.
One vote = One point. It's as simple as that. The more votes you get in a round, the more points. Due to the popularity of the competition, we will only be counting the results from the 'Top 20' scores each month.
The entrant with the most points each round will be eligible for the round prize. The Prize will be announced during the month of the competition.
The entrant with the most points at the end of the year will take the title and win a prize pack.
Look out for bonus quick fire rounds throughout the year for extra points!

Disqualifying images
When an image is disqualified, we remove the image and just leave a link. If your image has been changed to a link then it has been disqualified (Unless it has been changed due to nudity)
You may resubmit another entry (either a totally different photo, or a resized version of the disqualified one), by editing the post, replacing the contents with your new image.
You will have to do this before the month's deadline.
So please double-check your image doesn't break the rules (usually oversized or shown on Talk Photography before), and also it might be wise to recheck your post before the end of the month to make sure it hasn't been disqualified.

Final word
These rules and guidelines may change without warning, although we will endeavour to give you as much warning as possible of any changes that will adversely affect the competition.
Also, please note that should they need to intervene, Site Staff will have the final decision on any problems that arise.

All that's left to say is good luck to every single one who enters, and may we help you enjoy your photography :)

Kind Regards,
The Talk Photography Staff
