I basically attended this for a good laugh, the flyer i got said "Civil War Reenactment", so I had to go. I managed to get a few photos im happy with, please let me know what you think.

I forgot to turn my flash off when I arrived at the Owl display. The guy in charge didnt say anything, but I dont think he was too happy.

I promptly turned it off and got a bit closer.

Great little character, head bobbing around all over, spotted a pigeon that could have been its dinner.

I then spotted a cute little lass, with a Nikon:gag: luckily so did the attending army, 1 less Nikon snapper in the world.

Saw a young mother feeding the ducks... Duck catchs a piece of bread and runs away.

... then starts choking.

... then spits bread out, turns out it wasnt Hovis, picky ducks around here.:cuckoo:

Love the duck series

That first shot of the owl would have been great if it was looking at you.

hehe, there's some lovely ones there :D
The duck series is fun, but what's going on with those highlights??

As for the last two, I'd say the bokeh is distracting in the first, but not the second..

I hadnt noticed the highlights in the last duck sequence shot, looking at the RAW its down to a combination of the bokeh and the fact I had to pull quite a bit of detail from the ducks underexposed face.

I emailed these to my local BBC based rag, and was amazed to get a response, and such a positive one, they have even put them all up on a Gallery (http://www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire/content/image_galleries/towneley_festival_darryn_gallery.shtml)
