First a big Hi to all we met on Saturday, and an extra special thanks to Matt (Darksabre) & Sue for organising the meet. We couldn't stay the whole day as we had to drive down to the Bath/ Bristol area to visit friends, and we didn't get home to late yesterday.

I'm happy with what I've put on here, but disappointed that I didn't get any decent big cat pics..... but as I am now a member of Chester zoo, I shall have plenty of opportunity to rectify that :)

Cheers Marcel, the Orang utans were fantastic, I just loved taking photos of them... they are really funny :) Thanks to Matt & Sue for pointing out the 'ikkle baby deer' to me.... :thumbs:

Love the photos....the last chimp photo - something makes him look almost human.

I didn't even get to see the giraffes! It's surprising how much I missed looking at everyone elses photos.

I didn't manage to capture the "Tans" as they were feeling a bit grumpy when I got there. Either that or my lack of white lens meant they didn't need to perform for a peasant.

Great set of images there Mike, that last one of the chimps (chimp & mini-chimp) is awesome - one of the best chimp images I've ever seen - you've really captured the moment there (I love it even though chimps freak me out something ruthless...shudder smilie would be inserted here if there was one).

Was great to meet you too & I am genuinely surprised by the variety in everyones images (except that porno meercat that everyone seemed to get an image of :nono: :lol: ).

Some really fantastic shots there Mike, I particulary like the tarzan oran, the baby deer (because all of my shots of it came out blurry :P) and the giraffe ones. I can see what people are saying about the mother and baby chimp - thats a fantastic pose.

I think next time we go we're not going to try to see the whole thing again in one day like we've done the last 4 times we've been, I think we'll decide that "today we'll concentrate on lions, tigers, chimps and orans" and just sit/stand and watch them play around and try and capture something special. I think half of my problem is I still tend to use machine gun mode occasionally and I end up coming out with an okay shot.

Anyway, I digress, excellent work and it was lovely to meet you and Nadia.

Thanks for all the comments, I enjoyed the day and as I said before I shall be going there a lot more having now become a member......... I've got to get those big cat shots :)
