Taken at Ellesmere Lake in Wales (I think its in Wales anyway?) There are loads of damselflies & dragonflies & definately worth a visit - I do not own a macro lens unfortuately (soon, soon) so this image was taken with my trusty 75-300 - had to crop (never good with 4mp) but I was surprised at how sharp the image turned out considering.
There are loads of birds in flight opportunities too as there is a mad panic everytime someone throws bread in the water about 80 ducks, geese, swans, etc all come flying in & squabbling.
Will be going back when I've got my new lenses :p if anyone wants to join me.

Very nice. I like how the lines of the dragonfly's wings match up with the lines in the background. Really makes for an eyecatching and beautiful shot.

I agree with hr the composition of this shot is really good imo - lots of diagonals from stump, through insect and background do enhance the shot - get your hands on a macro and soon!!

Really nice shot there - dragonflies are fascinating subjects to photograph. Take a look at my dragonfly thread in this forum if you wanna see the biggest one i've ever seen!

Like the shot very much Mike .... I know Ellesmere very well (it's just over the border from Wales in Shropshire by the way:)), as you say there are loads of ducks etc on the lake, there's also a large(ish) park there too. Well worth a visit.
