Hi
I have had a canon EOS 300D for about 6 months and a relative has offered me a 2nd hand Tamron AF 28-80mm F/3.5-5.6 lens for a canon, he also quotes it is Aspherical. Can anyone tell me if it will fit to my camera and work. Or in fact anything about the lens, thanks

as long as its canon EF/EF-S fit itll be fine. aspheriacal just means its like a fish eye.

I think the tamrons are OK it's some of the old sigmas you have to be wary of as they return error 99 on DSLRs

. aspheriacal just means its like a fish eye.

From Wiki An aspheric lens or asphere is a lens whose surfaces have a profile that is neither a portion of a sphere nor of a circular cylinder

It doesn't mean fish eye (although it could be used to make a fish eye :)). All my sigma lenses are APO but none are even slightly fishy :D
