When I first bought my 450D, I picked up a Jessops own brand 4GB SD card at the same time.
I later bought 2 x Kingston 4GB SDHC class 4 cards and I noticed that the write time & buffering was a lot slower than the Jessops card when it comes to continous shooting.
I've just received 2 x Sandisk Extreme III 4GB SDHC Class 6 cards and boy are these cards quick.
I can see a signficant improvement with these for write and buffering times.
Although they are more expensive @ £19.99 per card, they are worth every penny for continous shooting.
If continous shooting is your thing I recommend these cards from www.mymemory.co.uk
You might need to update your 450D firmware although I did this and saw no difference with performance of the older cards.
Hi Hashcake
Your spot on with the speed, You can get cheaper but they are Class 4 and slower
I ordered a battery grip kit from china £39 + £17 postage the kit contains the grip 2 rechargeable batteries and a remote shutter. Its great
The Grip alone in UK is £79 cheapest and £25 each for batteries, makes a big difference for holding the 450D, much more comfortable,
Sorry for going on, I get easily exited at a bargain.
Good look, I need more cards shooting in RAW now only 80 shoots with 2GB card
Cheers:clap:

Hi,
You'll find all of Canon's firmware updates here:
http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd-e.html
Michael.
Remember even "class 6" just guarantees a minimum speed. This may not be the actual or maximum. There's a HUGE variation in maximum speed for cards within the same class, cheap or nobrand ones tend to be near that 6MBsec whereas the Extreme III and so on are nearer 20MBsec.

Kingston memory is well known for being crap. Your right to stick to sandisk or transcend.

Nice one thanks quedash.
I have to admit that I have been keeping away from cheaper chinese grips.
The reason for this is because I've read about people having a bad experience with them and burning the camera out.
Although having said that, everyone here has been positive about them.

Thanks for the info, hashcake. I am just about to order a 450D and a twinpack of this same memory card from WHE. Your source works out cheaper - thanks!
