Thanks to my wife being especially quiet when she got up at 5.30 this morning I was wide awake and thought I might head up to the moors near me to catch the sunrise. After misted up lenses (note the correct spelling), dropped filters, very wet feet, runny nose and cold hands I managed to snap these. Comments and criticisms welcome.

I love that first one - very simple but effective. Well worth getting up early for!

1 & 4 for me. 4 reminds me of The Road Not Taken by Frost.

First two are best and would be worth getting up for without slagging the wife ;)

#3 does nowt for me but all others have merit and are technically good.

Fantastic mate. I might give that place a try, where is it?

I'm hoping to go out early tomorrow morning, to catch some similar shots, but I'm not sure where to go....

Particularly like 1 & 4 .... 4 probably being my favourite.
I love the composition & the way it draws you into its cold isolation ... Id def hang it on my wall!

I love 2 and 4, and I would like to ask where these and the sign were taken as I live near Adlington, only about 4 or 5 miles from White Coppice.

I live in Brinscall which is between Chorley and Abbey Village. To get up on the moors I walk to the end of Well Lane and follow the footpath. You are rewarded with great views as the path gets higher, on a clear day it is possible to see the Welsh hills and right across to the Old Man at Coniston. The sign post is near to the copse of trees and about a mile and and half up the path. It heads in the direction of Winter Hill and the mast is visible most of the way along. You can also see Darwen Tower off to the far left as you follow the path. It can be pretty bleak but I like it when it is like that and if you get up there early enough and sit still and quiet you may spot the wild deer. It is avery nice part of the world and I walk up there quite often.
