Surely this must be the last Bumble Bee this year....a damn sight better looking than flies in my opinion!

Canon 100mm 2.8 macro @ f9, 1/3", ISO 100 for both

A touch of USM plus minor light level adjustment

This 'ere bee is dead. If you hadn't nailed it to that white plate it would be pushing up the daisies......................

Nice inactive bee shots ;)

Bereft of life, it's gone to the great 'oneycomb in the sky, it has ceased to bee(!)

You shoulda given it a flower!

Nice shot, btw!

Really nice sharp shots, I prefer No1, a bit more interest side on

Is that dust on the bee or your sensor?

Thanks for the comments all.

Grendel - thats dust and fluff on the bee (I'm sure) as it changes angle with the bee. What I like about no. 2 is the eyes - very spooky and very sad looking!

Yes, it does look very sorry for itself, but still a good shot!

It is an Ex-bee! It has ceased to be!

Very nice shot mate, I wish I could get something similar, I think it could be the extra reach thats stopping me getting the detail I want. Also I'm scared they'll sting me (although not as scared as Marcel who runs away, well okay, I run away too, but they are scary!!)

lovely colours and detail.

What was it resting on?

It was on a sheet of plain white A4 paper - and it had lost its fight I'm afraid - very buzzy and active for 10 mins before it quietned down and I had the nerve to remove the pint glass it was trapped under.

When I'd had my way with it Iin a photgraphics sense) I let it go in the garden - I hope it had a happy life after that!
