In a couple of months when I have more money selling prints etc, I'd like to trade in for the 40D, But i've never done trading before so anyone like to discuss how it's done? lol

I'd like to sell 400d body only or with my kit lens

for a 40D with mabye kit lens?

How much would i get for the 400D?

Depending on where you want to trade i doubt you will get much, i spoke to LCE and they offered me £180 for a 400d, grip, 18-55 and 55-200. i ended up selling it privately for double that. If i were you id try selling privately.

Yep I'd agree with that
sell it privately ( on here maybe? they seem to go quite quick, just take a look at older threads)
You'll get more for it and then look around for the "best price" on the 40D rather than be tied down to a trade with xxxxxxxxxx

Frankee, to give you an idea I sold my 400D on eBay a few days ago to upgrade to a 40D. I sold the camera, 18-55 kit lens, 2 spare batteries & a cheap shutter release cable, got £252 for it + £20 postage (which cost me £8, posted this afternoon). I had plenty of interest in it, just watch out for the eBay scammers who nearly ruined my auction! I already had the 18-55 IS so I bought a 40D body only from the Warehouse Express eBay store for £558 (just hours before it went up to £585).

Hope that helps!

Hi Stringy, this is the link http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Warehouse-Express-Online

It's just one guy called Paul who runs the eBay shop and is great to deal with, sorted me out a next day Saturday delivery on my 40D.

Before upgrading, what glass do you have? Would the money be better spent on that?

from12/3/09 ebay final value fees are going up to 10% + another 4% if they pay with paypal, knock 14% off that total and it's not so attractive to sell on ebay anymore

you'd be better off selling it on here for a slightly lower price and a hassle free sale IMO:)
