If heading along the A9 take the time to stop at The Hermitage at Dunkeld. This bridge is only a threee minute walk from the car park and there are falls with leaping salmon, etc. This was all I had time for but pleased with my "grab":

This one was taken yesterday whilst out walking with friends who are visiting from NZ. They were blown away with the autumn colours:

that second one is fantastic...excellent timing with the light, really makes it a cracking shot that.
I like both images but prefer the first.
Nice work.

Another vote for the second one here. I think maybe just a little too much blur on the water in the first shot spoils what could be a fab shot for me.
Mini's just said exactly what I was going to!
mini has said it all, the second is brilliant, but prefer your arial shots..
ooooh, another vote for the second. fantastic light.

Damn & Blast! #1 is my fav and you guys go for the other one! Hard to be critical of your own work and consistent when others, quite rightly, pick up on flaws you have missed.
Boon you are right but conditions have not been favourable and family ties....
Will try harder! Thanks for input all.
Gary
First for me, I like blurred water to be blurred, not those wishy washy half blurred with some splashy bits in it.
Where's the second though? I recognise it but can't place it, Aviemore-ish??

Thanks Dod. The first is a compo of four 6 second exposures using a layering technique I found another flickr member using.
The loch is Loch an Eilien at Rothiemurchus. We walked all the way round in flat light and just as we were leaving the sun came out. This is a hand held shot taken from the car park end of the loch.
I like both shots, but the second one is excellent.

I really like both and find them both very different in their appeal.
First has a sense of vibrancy about it, also for me, it gives a sense of finding some wonderful hidden view, you know as if its tucked away in the hills, somewhere you have to eek out or be told about its existance.
No2 is just amazing in its huge open vastness. I love the way you really get a sense of cool depth to the water, strange mix of danger & serenity (for me anyway). While the hills look solid, safe & warm. The foreground trees just knit it all together wonderfully.
Smashing!

Why thank you Inaglo!
The description you give of #2 warms me cockles!
I like them both for different reasons, but if I had to chose one over the other, then number 2 would win hands down. It's just absolutely gorgeous. One of those shots I could sit and look at and inspect for ages on a wall.
The first, while good, I think the foreground brickwork is a bit too overpowering, and takes my attention away from the rest of the shot.
