I like them both, and the photos aren't bad either :D
Very sexy, did you get their phone numbers for me?
Very nice Marianne (the shots ;)). I would be tempted to dial in a little less exposure on the first one, the hand especially looks a tad overexposed :)

hmm...its how I want them to look...the straight shots are exposed just fine. I feel confident to say this, a couple of years ago I would have felt I had to change my processing, I like them as they are Marcel, but I can see your point. Me being me will probably go and have another edit with less of the glow appearing on the hand because I think that is what you might be on about, just because I love a challenge ;) I do find though that men (and a lot of women) just want perfect photography, just as the photography manual says it should be, I break rules simply because I want a shot to please my eye. I think that maybe my style (and Barry's) is a good combination for wedding photography. Its what drew the couple in the first place. This sounds like a rant but honestly, I am not at all grumpy about what you said, it has just made me think a bit deeper into my work and try and let you know my thoughts behind the editing. Bring it on!!!!!
Fair comments Marianne. You're quite right
The beauty of photography is that it's so subjective, one mans cookie is another mans cake so to speak (I have no idea what that means, just made it up...lol).
You see, where I think it might be a little overexposed, the next person thinks it's spot on. And if the shots look how you want them to look then that's the main thing.
If I'm being honest, they don't look bad at all.
You see I'm not really confident enough to attempt to break outside the 'rules', and say "Yes, its a little underexposed, or overexposed, or under/oversaturated, but it's the effect I was after".....I think I need to be more confident with my artistic eye, rather than go for the technically perfect shot every time.....

just made some butterfly cakes so Barry is having his cake and eating it
Another point I'd like to make is that underneath this editing, the shots are spot on IMO of course ;) .... on the whole, I don't feel that I can edit a bad shot into a good one, unless of course I have no alternative.... mwahahahaha
I wish my wedding pictures were as good as some of the ones I have seen you have put on here. Would have loved you to come and do our photos.

ohhh....that is just about the nicest comment anyone could make, thanks Sue.
It's true, the photos we have are really nice, and I like them, just yours are just that bit different, I would love to be able to do something like that.

prefer the first two, and the one of all three of them. personally. not sure personally about the youngest one of them on her own.

the youngest bridesmaid was the most sensitive to the camera, she seemed to have her eyes half closed in most of the shots so I took this one when she was sat on a windowsill waiting to go into the ceremony, the blinds aren't the best backdrop but one thing that I've learnt with wedding shoots is that you have to take your photos when they happen and not pose them too much because the naturalness evaporates if you get too bossy..but then I suppose you get the people that like to pose, these are all 'getting ready' shots, we took plenty of formal ones too. Have I overdone the processing on her? I did wonder about it myself ;)
personally i find the light in the top right corner distracting.

yes, that side of the shot is a bit too bright really :) thanks

how about this one?
http://www.barrianne-photos.co.uk/picperfic/alan_sandra_5074.jpg
cant make up my mind about this one, i do like it but there is just something about it i arent sure about.
My favourite is the youngest girl on her own, I find her quite captivating.
And being as we're talking about going against the grain/rules I have to say that for me, the bright light in the top right actually adds to the lovely glow that filters out towards the centre of the picture. I just love it, and if this were my daughter that would be sitting in a very large frame on my wall, I think its just beautiful!
I also like the naturalness of the last image, shame we cant see her mouth, as I think it needs it without the eye contact. Still, a nice image though and I have to say personally I prefer to see these kind of wedding pics to formal shots.
I can see why the lads like the older bridesmaids ;)
My fave of those is the 3 girls together.
Personally not so keen on the 1st two shots but I guess thats because I cant get past looking at stubby fingernails yet ... old habbits die hard!
Lovely set Marianne
Agreed: the girl on her own and the last one are the best of the ones you've shown us so far. The first too looked a bit wishy-washy to me - not the processing, just the overall feel of the images.

flipping 'eck Glo...I never saw this comment until I had already re-uploaded some of these images including the one that you and Arkady like, I am so confused, on another site I was told it was far too yellow, I liked it but I guessed they knew best! Barry has even calibrated my monitor because my images were looking a bit too yellow....oh boy! :bang:
here is the same image plus another with less saturation

I love that first one in the second post (the lone girl by the blinds). It has a very 'natural beauty' feel to it.
Edit : IE The one you've just posted :)
