I have packs of alcohol wpies taht are specifically for optical glass. I but them for my glasses, but are they OK to use on lens glass? Or would they strip the coating off?

many of the 'isopropyl wipes' also tend to include other 'things', i wouldn't risk it...

I use (and highly recommend) Bouchard Optical Lens wipes, they are the only alcohol wipes that I've found don't smear the glass.

Always have a few sachets of them in my bag, great for clearing rain drops, finger marks etc when out in the field.

Tip from a camera mag a few months ago:

Screw up 2 Rizla ciggy papers, breath on lens (glass) and wipe away!

(Although haven't tried it myself yet.....)
