I rarely use a 400mm (35mm equiv) lens for a landscape, but it seemed to work fairly well with this monotone effect, the receding shades and the distant fishermen on Coniston Water.

good shot, nice composition. i like the stacking of the slanted hills in the background.

it does look a little soft, but that's not always a bad thing.

Bit too distant for my liking. How about this.... (although only having the low rez jpg to work with I've blown some of the shadows)

Hmm not sure about the edit, that tree on the left looks far more intrusive now. I think the original is a better perspective on the scene.

BTW if they are fisherman where are their rods, the one on the right looks more like he's having a 'P' :)
