View Full Version : my shadow
a pic of my working dog shadow, bedlington x whippet 21/2 years old and getting sick and tired of having a camera pointed at him in my quest to take a decent photograph :)

Pity that the lighting on the dog is so flat, needs a little boost to make it pop. The shallow depth of field helps, but the most bright OOF blob at the top is very distracting. personally I would crop the top to lose the blob and the slanting horizon and a little from the LHS to keep the format similar and just increase the brightness/contrast slightly.
Something like this?

thanks for that ed  you know, every shot i take of him seems to suffer from the light blob on the top of his head, his coat is such an awkward colour and is so shiney and smooth, i'm off to play with elements :D

I didn't mean that the OOF blob was on the dog the light bit on the top of the dog is just light picked up from above (which it is why it is slightly bluish), I meant the orangy building in the background at the top of the picture. You have to be aware of what is included in the whole picture, not just the main subject.
