View Full Version : The Old and the Young
I'm not sure if I like this or not. I like the idea but I keep looking at it thinking it's not doing it for me. So I thought I'd post it to see what you think - I know you'll be honest ;)

I like the concept but it is missing that extra oomph. Maybe it is the dull background. What about black with a few high key lights mess with the different textures of the chilis that way. Just an idea though.

This is very spooky but I've had a very similar idea but my attempts weren't too clever...I couldn't find the right environment into which to sit my chillis!:shake:
I think this needs something to elevate from chillis sitting on a surface - I'm not sure of the lighting does anything for me - sorry to be negative but I'm just getting over my own unsuccessful chilli attempts.
Nice and crisp though! :D
Thanks Renee and John. I agree with you both! You're right John, something needs to lift the chillis from the background. I like the idea of going for a black background, that would really make the chillis stand out. I think I'll try this shot again. Thanks for the help guys, I had kind of given up on this photo, although I knew the idea had potential. Now I've got some enthusiasm to try it again. You know how sometimes you can stare at a picture, knowing it's lacking something, but you can't put your finger on what it is! I knew you'd point me in the right direction, thanks!

Hope you don't mind but this is a sad attempt of my own...still don't think it works - yours has a better angle!

These were done last week - spooky!
PS They were bloody hot! Home grown!
Great minds think alike John!
Definately think your background works better, the bold red of the chillis seems to need the dark background.
Sounds like we need to hook up for some chilli photography, then maybe chop them up and cook them
