I have seen a Canon 430ez flashgun in good condition but it only works in manual mode on a dslr. Is it worth it?? I only shoot in manual mode now so that isn't an issue so much but how much more work is it to have to set it yourself?? What does it entail? Thanks!

The way I understand it, even though you have the camera in manual mode, the flash gun 'ex' range still works in E-TTL mode to control the amount of flash power provided. This gun wont, you will have to decide how much power it is to deliver for each and every shot.

I still have my old flash head and a new 580 ex and can say without a doubt that the E-TTL new gun works so much better and easier than me old one.

Just what I wanted to know. I will have to cough up the big bucks I guess! Thank you.
