well I have just joined the 1D mk2 club picked it up from canonbob  at the birds of prey centre yesterday and am really impressed with it the AF is amazing, used the 300mm f4 IS with it and got some good shots. the shutter button seems very sensitive and is going to take some getting used to as I keep taking 2 shoots at a time :shake: but we will get there.
so any tips I should know??

this trip to silverstone is costing me a fortune:lol:

Not exactly a coincidence but I've just resigned from it. Go easy with it, you've only got 107,000 clicks left before the shutter packs up...apparently ;)

Why don't you just switch it to single shot mode?

When I am at an event/match I ahvent got time to change modes between shots.. theres no way of knowing if i want to take 1 or mutiple until soemhting is actually happening

You should be able to slow down the drive mode. I'm at work so may be a bit wrong as I'm doing this from memory.

Hold down whatever button combination on the top left of the camera to access the drive feature and whilst holding them, rotate the dial until it shows multiple frames and the letter L next to it. That should slow it down to about half the speed.

Yes, there's two options for frame rate...3 and 8fps IIRC.
