Nikon 70-300

I have been thinking about a second hand Nikon 70-300 ED, or a new sigma 70-300, both which appear to be available at about the same price, i.e. about £150.00. There doesn't appear to be any used VR versions of the nikon about which I'm not too worried about as I will probably always use a tripod. Any thoughts, opinions or suggestions?

as i dont take my photography too seriously (it just so i can print pics im happy with for signing by drivers/riders) i use a nikkor 70-300mm af lens (cost £65 brand new with shipping from hong kong) might not be the best lens around but good enough for me.

well of the galleries i have only the last 3 are with a D90 all the ones before that was with a D50 and the lens i mentioned.
