As a Nikon afficianado for 27 years you expect a serious answer fom me!

Have fun with it..... if it feels good in your hand it must be the right tool..... (just don't say anything else)....

The 1D is a LOT of camera for the prices they can be had for now.

What's your other DSLR kit?

My other kit is a 20D, sigma 120-300 EX, sigma 30 F1.4 & toki 12-24.
I only just got the 30 F1.4 but if I like the 1D I'll sell it again and get a Canon 28 F1.8 which will work on both the 1D and the 20D.

(plus it was well under £400 delivered  )

That's just a crazy price - you'd be daft not to buy it for that money!

You can download an exif reader prog. which should tell you the number of shutter actuations.

For some reason it only works for me from a SMALL jpeg.

That was my thought on the price. Even if me and 1D don't get on I'll not loose any.
Reported as 30K actuations from the seller (I believe him), but I'll check anyway just so I know how to when I use it :) Thanks for the link.
