Tamron SP AF 90mm F 2.5 Macro (Model 52E). Has any-one got one of these lens and if so how would you rate it and what do you think would be a fair price for one in good condition.Considering using it on a D300

Do you mean the 52B?

I got one last night on Ebay HERE (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&&item=300301390984) for what I consider a reasonable price but I actually only bought it for the Adaptall 2 Pentax PK/A mount (worth £50 on its own) as I already have the 72B macro.

I love the Adaptall 2 SP lenses, excellent IQ.

I have one, they're only 1:2.5 not 1:1 like the more modern macros, you have to add extension tubes to get them to 1:1

I paid £100 for mine but I haven't had a chance to use it much as I only got it recently

Ah right, the first AF version I think.
Anyway, never seen a bad word about any Tamron macro lens so I have no reason to think that would be any different.
List HERE (http://home.comcast.net/~tmoreau2/dyxum_90mm.htm)

Still only 1:2 though.

If you won then you got it for a reasonable price

Yes I won it,was watching a few others also and seemed a good enough price. Not that worried about the macro side of it for now.
