Well, I set up my tripod for this shot - don't think the CCTV operators liked it that much!

Nice shot, why not send them a copy of it ;)

Hahahaha! Can you lend me a keyboard? Mine's got coffee all over it!

Maybe they'd like this one too! (Under the bridge that I took the other one from...)

Nice! It's just on the slant enough to feel a bit unsettling Chris.

1.25 degs I make it. :D

Edit first shot that is. Second is very nice.

Excellent Chris! I never spotted that second shot - well found. HDR looks great on those

Cheers, Cedric! Updated the image now, thanks! (I made it 1.21 degress hahaha!)... :thumb:

Thanks Paul - I've wanted to take that shot under the bridge for a while... would have loved to do it with a 10-20mm bit of glass though!

First attempts at HDR. Jury's still out whether I like them that much or whether I've gone a bit overboard on it... Hmmm...

Did you do it using Pete's tutorial?
It's actually the water in No 1 that does it for me! The colours and textures in the buildings look really vivid but that's kinda the idea with HDR isn't it?

I did, Paul, yes. Well, more or less. I just mucked about with the tone mapping until I got something I thought was more-or-less okay!

Very nice - shame it was such an effort to get them though, but good to see determination and conviction coming through in the end

Very nice Chris, like the sky in the first.

Sorry but I do not care for the first one. The HDR effect says drama, the composition doesn't. The result for me is a troublesome picture with no ooh! factor.

Now #2 is different. That dramatic curve matches the treatment and is a winner:1st:

Good efforts Chris and agree that a mega-wide shot would be a great starting point for the treatment.

Ditto ... :agree: ...first is just a pic (albeit a decent pic !) but the second is something else ... excellent shot that one ... imo of course ...

BTB ... what's with all the troublesome wires across the water ... most annoying they are ...:D

:p

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

I've had another go at the 2nd shot - toned down the HDR effect a little and removed the cables across the water. Do you guys think it's any better?

Sorry Chris I preferred the first one  I think the clouds look a bit unnatural on the second, although cloning out the cables makes a big improvement!

I like the arty (almost comic-book) feel of the first one. :)

I like the second and prefer the 3rd cleaned version, first doesn’t do much for me….to little contrast and a colour flatness type thing.

A very inspiring image for me that last one Chris, what a great comp… think I'd better find my self an HDR package.
