Some of the Yorkshire Dales' drystone walls (near Feizor) on a cold but bright November day.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I went looking for photographs of the walls, and this one unexpectedly presented itself when I was climbing a stile! Glad you like the composition - that's what caught my eye here.

Nice diagonals and lines taking your eye this way and that - in a nice way! Good work!

An interesting composition, I like it!
I have no doubt that this is a very sharp image, but the web version is too heavily sharpened for me.

I like it, nice comp, making an interesting pic... sharpness seems ok to me. WDIK, ;)

If you have this In RAW, I'd try making a tiff for the shadows and blending together to bring out that dark middle areas as well.

Thanks for the further comments - they're much appreciated. Sharpness is an individual thing isn't it. This image has my standard sharpening for the web applied, but could it be looking particularly sharp because of the low angle of the sun, and the many small points of shadow? The dark areas of the shot were what I agonised over most! What I tried to achieve was sufficient darkness to maintain a good range of tones across the image, whilst revealing some of the detail within the deepest shadows - there was little detail in the out-of-the-camera version. I may have failed in this aim!

Nice shot Tony, I'm sure that was a really contrasty exposure problem being into the light too. I had a quick play just using selective feathered masks on the blocked up shadows. It does seem as though the shadow detail is recoverable if you go back to the RAW file?

Oops! Sorry Tony, just realised your 'Edit' box isn't ticked so I deleted the pic.
