View Full Version : Buying used equipment
Hi,
Does anybody know of any forums which people use to buy and sell used camera equipment?
Cheers,
Emma
You can do so here (In the appropriate section) but you need to be here a month and have made at least 100 posts.
That might sound a pain but having been ripped off on POTN I personally think its a good thing and helps protect the buyer and seller.....just 58 posts to go!!!!
It is a good idea. Only people that want to be on here will stay for that long. I have ages to go before I can sell my gear. Ahhhhhhhhhh.
Wow...ok...I'd better get posting and twiddling my thumbs then. Yeah, it does sound like a good way to keep things more secure. Thanks for your replies everyone.

you can buy with out just not sell, or post a wanted thread
on POTN you need 30 posts and be on there one month as well now. check the sellers posts and make sure they are not just nice pics and welcome to the forum .

I'm also trying to up my post count (without too much spamming of course :p) so that I can sell something. Not long to go now!

I'm in the same boat! Another 3 weeks and quite a few more posts before I have full access to the classifieds on here
Got ripped off 18months ago on POTN by a guy with what appeared genuine posts but turned out to be a Chinese student who took a few of us with bank transfers before doing a runner back to China.
He'd done a sale a few days ago and had even let the purchaser collect from his house thus get good feedback and sucking me in.
I have lived and learned and hence am a fan of TP's policy even though it is not entirely fool proof. Suffice to say I will not be paying by bank transfer again.
The police didn't help much either...
So when the EportUK thing happened last month, I did not lose out.
